Blogging...

So, there used to be a time (it seems forever ago!) that I would love nothing else than to snuggle up in squishies on the couch and surf the internet or blog. My how times have changed!

First of all, there is no such thing as snuggle time with my computer anymore. As a principal, I spend more time than I could ever imagine responding to emails, writing letters, proofreading reports, etc... most days I would be more than happy to leave my computer in my office (secretly hoping someone would steal it). And my nightly routine of squishes is now a superman-like transformation of whatever work clothes I have on-- with whatever cotton stretchy things are closest to the toliet (as I now only change clothes while doing something else... motherhood has made me the queen of multi-tasking). And as far as the 'couch' goes. The animals have taken over the first floor of our house (including the couches). And the only 'couch' time we get now is for feeding Madison right before she falls asleep at night.

It's amazing how motherhood has changed my perspective and management of time and tasks. I used to actually clean the house regularly and take the garbage out and organize our bills and mail and put my clothes away... and now... I drop everything to hang out with Jason and Madison. It's not that I prefer to live in slop, just that I need those smiles and cooos and giggles more than ever before! I am continually reminded that there is no job more important in this world than being a parent. Not to say your job's not important if you've chosen not to be a parent.... just that when you have the oppotunity to weigh the 2, being a mom comes second to nothing. Her smile lights up the ugliest day. Jason and I compete for the stage when we get home at night to see whose day Madison can brighten first.

We truely are blessed to have such a healthy, happy cutie-- patootie!
