Honduras

What a gorgeous day! We arrived in Roatan, Honduras at 8:30am today (a little later than the anticipated 7:30 arrival... but we're on vacation, right). There was a little bit of a struggle getting off of the boat again today.... but at least we were docked... and didn't have to deal with the tendering drama....

We bought tickets to go to Tabayana Beach for the morning-- and it was wonderful! The beach was beautiful and clean and had great service and restrooms and showers... we were in heaven!! There were plenty of beach chairs for reading trashy magazines and a beach full of kayaks and snorkel equipment to rent!

Today was probably the best snorkeling we've ever done! There were huge coral rock formations surrounded by schools of fish-- of all sizes and colors! We had a great time! I got a little freaked out snorkeling... I scare myself sometimes and start to imagine that something is lurking in the dark behind me... or that something is going to creep up and scare me... so I didn't go quite as far as the others... but thoroughly enjoyed myself non-the-less! Jason had plenty of opportunities to show off his diving and snorkeling skills... he loves to dive down and get face to face with the creatures and coral! The rest of the group loves to snorkel and swim as well-- Erin and Seth actually met as lifeguards at a pool.

Our only disappointment was that we didn't have an opportunity to shop on the island. We were here for our honeymoon a few years ago and bough a bunch of cool wood bowls and vases, but we ran out of time today. We had to be back on the ship by 12:30.

It was sooooo hot today that Jason and I actually hid in our room for a little while and enjoyed the air conditioning-- we just couldn't do another sun and bar afternoon without cooling off first! It worked out perfect though-- because it was 'formal' night-- so we were all sober enough to have cocktail hour in our room before dinner! Thank you dad and Peg for the champagne and wine!!! It was thoroughly enjoyed by all in our room before dinner!!
